Mana recenzija (pārdomas)/My (thoughts) review

***************************************

The Death Factory starts with Penn’s father and very respected doctor in Natchez Tom Cage fight for his life, literary almost shaking hands with it, and miraculous escape from it thanks to fast and professional actions by his colleagues. This isn’t the first time when Tom’s heart doesn’t want to do its job anymore, so it’s clear that even If he quits all his bad habits his time on Earth isn’t measurable in decades.

The Devil’s Punchbowl is only a five days past and adding Tom’s bad health it’s a big weight on Penn’s shoulders. Maybe that’s why the talk with Tom’s youngest brother Jack is so useful to him.

We return about 7 years in the past when Penn’s wife Sarah desperately fights with a cancer. Despite the glumly situation in the family and the fact that for 3 years Penn has chosen a writer’s carrier his character doesn’t allow him to stand by and not help to fix a system’s error because of which a guilty man might stay free.

The synopsis of this book promises that this is a set up for the next three books in Penn Cage series. Hopefully as good as the first three!
