Malala Yousafzai, Christina Lamb – I am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban

Grāmatas apraksts no Goodreads/Synopsis from Goodreads:

When the Taliban took control of the Swat Valley, one girl fought for her right to an education. On Tuesday, 9 October 2012, she almost paid the ultimate price when she was shot in the head at point-blank range.

Malala Yousafzai’s extraordinary journey has taken her from a remote valley in northern Pakistan to the halls of the United Nations. She has become a global symbol of peaceful protest and is the youngest ever winner of the Nobel Peace Prize.

I Am Malala will make you believe in the power of one person’s voice to inspire change in the world.

Mana recenzija (pārdomas)/My (thoughts) review

About Malala Yousafzai and what she has managed to do and is still doing at her age despite the danger and actual attack by Taliban is just something amazing, and if you’re wearing a hat, you can take it off in front of her. I believe no matter what age not many have that kind of courage and bravery.

For the first time about Malala I heard almost two years ago on Fine Brother Entertainment youtube channel’s video. Like the young people in that video there have been times too that I have complained silently to myself about another Monday and that have to go to school and learn, although students elsewhere in the world die for that.

This is an abridged version and not a complete version of Malala’s story but I believe it’s enough to get acquainted with the situation, at least for the beginning.
