Mana recenzija (pārdomas)/My (thoughts) review

***************************************

The main theme of Deadly Decisions, the third book of Temperance Brennan series, is the war between biker gangs about the territory and the share of drug market. You could reason that why should someone interfere as they kill each other, but only if that would be true. It would be silly to think that their wouldn’t be any collateral damage and innocent victims to their actions.

When a nine year old girl Emily Anne Toussaint ends up on her table, Brennan resolves to do everything to her power to make sure that those scumbags, who are responsible for such abrupt end of Emily’s life, pay accordingly.

In addition to all extra fun that this case bring there’s also another stirring in Brennan’s life when she finds about trouble detective Andrew Ryan has gotten himself into  – he is charged with selling drugs. Who can she believe? To the seemingly overwhelming evidence or her intuition?

And that’s not everything! During one nice day Kit, son of Brenan’s freethinking sister Harry, shows at her doorsteps, according to his words ‘’just for a while’’. One of Kit’s passions is motorized vehicles, especially bikes. Considering the latest events in the city and its surroundings, that’s just wonderful! One more reason for unnecessary worry about the nephew.

And so it goes, while Brennan tries to balance things in her private life and work, at the same time working her ass off to solve the case. Here and there the author again falls into dry explaining of technical things, but at least it has improved from first two books. : )
